SIROCCO

The 'Sirocco' is a desert storm, a wind which carries sand from the Sahara over the Mediterranean into southern Europe. It doesn't reach Britain but from time to time sand from the desert is deposited on our streets. However, this vibrant dress is really a fantasy of swirling sand, dust devils, shifting dunes, and thoughts of lazy summer days on the beach.

Sirocco is an extravagant prom, party or cocktail dress made hand-woven, silk dupion shot - an intense gold colour, shot with red. It is heavily boned to maintain the shape, and features a collar of overlapped layers, which is frayed towards one side. The fabric is gathered into roses which cascade down the other side of the dress. This is a very flexible outfit with detachable tulle underskirt, which may be replaced with an alternative design to fit in with your social calendar!

Sirocco is a unique, one-off design for exhibition purposes. It can be recreated to your size and with your choice of fabrics.
Once the design has been sold it will not be repeated.
